Public Service Commission, West Bengal (PSCWB) is going to organize
West Bengal Civil Service (Exe) Exam 2014 for recruitment of Group-A, B, C
& D Posts in WBCS (Exe) and other Cervices in different scale of pay.
Candidates who meet eligibility criteria for this examination and want to work
as Civil Servants in WB can apply by filling up online application till 15th
May 2014 (Revised Date). This
examination will be conducted in two stages; (i) PT (Objective Type) and (ii)
Mains (Objective & Conventional Type). After both Tests, qualified
candidates will be called for personality test by the commission.

Note: Numbers of vacancies will be announced in due time after
declaration of Result.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university. Ability
to read, write and speak in Bengali (not applicable for Nepali Speaking
Candidates).
Age Limit: Not less than 21 years and not more than 32 years for
Service and Posts in Group A, C & D and not less than 20 years and not more
than 32 years in Group-B. Age limit will be calculated as on 01/01/2014.
Relaxation in upper age limit for SC / ST and BC of WB will be given upto 05
years and 03 years respectively. Upper age limit for PWD candidates is 45
years. Candidates belonging SC / ST / BC category of other states will be
treated as General Candidates.
Exam Pattern: Preliminary Test will be of 200 Marks consisting of 200 multiple
choice Questions. Duration of this test will be of 2 ½ Hours. Main Examination will
comprise 6 Compulsory Papers and one optional subject. Each Compulsory or
Optional paper will be of 200 Marks and time duration will 03 hours. Personality
Test will be of 200 marks for Group-A & B, 150 marks for Group-C and 100
Marks for Group-D. Exam Syllabus is available at www.pscwb.org.in.
Application Fee: Rs.210 for all candidates except SC / ST of WB and
PWD. There no fee exemption for SC / ST / BC candidates of other states. Payment
of fee can be made Online through Net Banking or Offline using Duplicate Challan
at any branch of banks participating in GRIPS of WB. Application fee can be
submitted till 13/05/2014.
How to Apply: Online application will be filled up till 15/05/2014 (Revised Date) through the website www.pscwbonline.gov.in.
Before application, new candidates are required to register as “Online Time Registration”, take print
out registration form and obtain Registration Id and Password. Candidates must
have scanned photograph and signature as well. Procedure of online application

before online application.
