How to Fill Up IGNOU Application Form for Walk-In-Admission (Offline)


Filling up IGNOU Offline Admission Form
Indira Gandhi National Open University, popularly known as IGNOU, is a distance learning national university with Head office in New Delhi. This is the largest university in the world that provides higher education opportunities. To fill up Application form for walk-in-admission (offline) is very simple. However, you can go through following lines if you have any confusion while filling up admission form. Procedure to fill up form for January or July Session is the same. Follow the instruction with SL No.

01.  Programme Code: This is what for which you want to take admission such as MCA, MARD, MTA under Master’s Degree Programme, BDP, BTS, BCA etc under Bachelor’s degree Programme.
02.  Enrolment No. (This for office use only)
03.  Regional Centre Code: This the code of IGNOU Regional Central under which your study centre falls. Example: 28 for Kolkata, 05 for Patna etc.
04.  Study Centre Code: The code of study centre where you will study after admission.
05.  State Code: Enter the code of State in which you want to study
06.  Medium: Select language in which you want to complete your study such as English (A1), Hindi (B2) and others (C3). If you choose other language, you need to specify in the box below.
07.  Fill up Column No. 7a. With “A1” (Yes) if you have already registered with IGNOU otherwise with “B2” (No). If you fill up the column 7a. With “A1” then provide Enrolment No. and Programme Code in Column 7b.
08.  Date of Birth: enter your DOB with Date, Month and year
09.  Nationality: If you are Indian, write “A1” otherwise “B2”
10.  Sex:(Write “A1” for Male and “B2” for Female)
11.  Category: “A1” for GEN, “C3” for ST, “B2” for SC and “D4” for OBC. Normally OBC has two categories, so write “D4-A” for Creamy Layer and “D4-B” for Non-Creamy Layer in box place below.
12.  Territory Code: If you reside in City or Town, write “A1 Urban”, If you belong to Countryside, write “B2 Rural” and if do not live in city or rural area and you come from tribe, write “C3 Tribal”
13.  Marital Status: Write “A1” for Married and “B2” for Unmarried
14.  Religion: Enter the code of your region.
15.  Whether Minority: Write “A1” for Yes and “B2” for No
16.  Social Status: Write “C3” if you are not an Ex-Serviceman or War Widow otherwise write code A1 or B2 respectively.
17.  Whether Kashmiri Migrant: Indicate by putting code “Yes” or “No”
18.  Name of the Candidate: You can write your name by leaving an empty box between the first name, middle name and surname
19.  Father’s/Husband’s Name/Mother’s Name: strike out which is not applicable.
20.  Course Codes: Here, you can see the codes of the course you want to enroll for. Just write the code of your choice in the box.
21.  You can fill up this column if you belong to WPD.
22.  Employment Status: Write the type of employment
23.  Scholarship Details: If you have received any scholarship, you are required to write the amount, department offering, family income etc.
24.  Relevant Qualifications: Enter the code of Qualifications, Name of Main Subjects, year of passing, Division, Percentage of Marks and Code of Board.
25.  Details of Fees: Write “A1” If you are paying through Challan and “B2” for Bank Draft.
26.  Amount: Enter Fee Amount and Provide Challan/DD Number and Date in the box. Add Rs.200 in case of late fee. Write name of the Bank of challan/DD.
27.  Address for Correspondence: Write the address on which you want IGNOU to send any information related to admission, books, examination etc.
28.  Landline Telephone: provide if any
29.  Fax No.: Provide if any
30.  Mobile Number: provide if any
31.  Email Address: provide if any

Write the Date and put your signature in the box place below these columns and then Tick the relevant boxes under checklist option. Affix a passport size photograph of 4cm * 5cm duly attested by you to the appropriate box and put your signature just below it.
