Sub-Inspector, Lady Sub-Inspector Posts in West Bengal Police 2013


West Bengal Police Recruitment 2013: 400 Posts
Applications on prescribed format are invited by West Bengal Police Recruitment Board for the recruitment to the posts of Sub-Inspector and Lady Sub-Inspector in the pay scale of Rs.7100-37600 + GP Rs.3900. Only Un-armed candidates are eligible to apply for these posts. Departmental candidates who have appeared 3 times at the examination for recruitment to the post of SI or LSI are not eligible. Age of the candidates should not be more than 27 years and they should have bachelor’s degree in any disciplines which is the minimum qualification for this post. Preliminary Examination, Final Examination and Personality test will be conducted for the selection of both posts. Application can be made in stated format and it must reach the Chairman of WB Police Recruitment Board on or before 17/04/2013.

Eligibility Criteria and other Details of Posts
  • Qualifications: Bachelors’ degree in any disciplines or equivalent from a recognized University.
  • Age Limit: Minimum age 20 years and maximum age limit 27 years as on 01/01/2013. There are 5 years relaxation for SC/ST and 3 years relaxation for OBC candidates.
  • Pay Scale: Rs.7100-37600 + GP Rs.3900
Selection Process: The Process of Selection comprises Preliminary examination, Final examination and Personality test. Preliminary Test will be conducted just for Screening and marks obtained in this test will not be added to marks which will be used to prepare final merit list. Successfully qualified candidates in PT will be called for Final Examination and after qualified in this examination, they will be invited for Personality Test which also covers Physical Measurement Test.

Written Test: Prelim and Final Exam will be based on General Study which covers the questions of different spheres of general knowledge and Arithmetic consisting of questions based on the syllabus of Class 10th Examination of West Bengal Board. A test of English will be conducted in Final Examination. 

Physical Standard: Height-1.67 mtrs, Weight-51.5 kgs, Chest-79 cms (with expended 84 cms) for male candidates. Height-1.60 mtrs, Weight-45 kgs for the female candidates.

Application Fees: Rs.150 for UR and OBC candidates but no fees for SC/ST candidates of West Bengal. Fees can be paid in the shape of A/c Payee DD or IPO in the favour of West Bengal Police Recruitment Board, payable at Kolkata.

How to Apply: Aspiring candidates are required to obtain prescribed application form from the “Office of Superintendent of Police or Office of the Commissioner of Police (Except Kolkata) from 20/03/2013 to 16/04/2013. Applicants may submit their furnished application in all respect with copies of all essential documents, DD/IPO along with two latest photographs (one should be pasted on application) to “The Chairman, West Bengal Police Recruitment Board” on or before 17/04/2013.
