  • Vacancies: 1267 Posts (Male-1109, Female-158)
  • Age Limit: 18 to 27 years as on 01/01/2013. Relaxation for SC/ST category will be given upto 05 years and for OBC will be given upto 03 years
  • Qualifications: Class 10th Pass from West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or any equivalent qualification from the board recognized by State / Central Government

Physical Standard: For Excise Constable - Height: 167 cms, Chest: 78 to 83 cms for all candidates Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbanshis & ST, for which Height is160 cms and Chest is 76 to 81 cms. For Lady Excise ConstableHeight: 160 cms for all candidates except Gorkhas, Garwalies, Rajbhanshis and ST for which Height is 152 cms. Chest for Female Candidates is not applicable.

Selection Process: Selection of eligible male or female candidates on the post of Excise Constable will be done through PMT, PET, Written Examination of 90 Marks, Interview  of 10 Marks followed by Medical Test.

Application Fees: Rs.150 in the shape of Bank Draft payable at Kolkata or Crossed Postal Order Payable at GPO, Kolkata in favour of West Bengal Police Recruitment Board. Not Fees for SC/ST Candidates of West Bengal.

How to Apply: First of all, candidates need to obtain application form by going to the office Superintendent of Police / Office of the Commissioner of Police (Except Kolkata) between 24/01/2013 and 24/02/013 with a Bank Draft / Crossed Postal Order / Caste Certificate in Case of SC/ST / Identity Card issued by the Labour Department Govt. of WB in Case of Exempted Category. Fill the application form with proper details and submit with copies of essential documents and two photographs at the same place from where it was issued or send by post to “The Chairman, West Bengal Police Recruitment Board” on or before 25/02/2013.
