Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is notifying for Indian Forest Service (IFS) Examination 2012 for the recruitment to Indian Forest Service. IFS Examination will be held from 14/07/201 at various centres across the country. Eligibility	Graduate Degree in Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science / Geology / Chemistry / Statistics / Physics / Zoology or Graduate degree in Forestry / Agriculture or Engineering or any equivalent qualifications from an university incorporated by an act of Central / State Legislature in India
Age Limit	Not less than 21 years and below 30 years as on 01/08/2012. Age Relaxation for SC/ST Candidates will be upto 5 years and 3 years in case of OBC Candidates
Number of Attempts	Eligible candidates for this examination have been permitted Four Attempts and Seven Attempts in case of OBC Candidates. There are no restriction on number of attempts for SC/ST Candidates

Exam Pattern: IFS Examination 2012 consists of Two Sections, Section-I (Written Test) and Section-II (Personality Test). Written test will be of 800 Marks based on General English of 300 Marks, General Knowledge of 300 Marks and any Selected Subject of 200 Marks. Personality Test will be of 300 Marks

Mode of Payment: There are tree options for payment of application fees. Rs.100 as application fees can be paid through Pay-in-Slip (Generated after Part-I Registration) at any branch of SBI / State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur / State Bank of Hyderabad / State Bank of Mysore / State Bank of Patiala / State Bank of Travancore, through Net Banking or by using Debit/Credit Card

How to apply: Online application for IFS Exam 2012 can be filled up through the website www.upsconline.nic.in till 14/05/2012. Online application for this can be done in two stages; Part-I Registration & Part-II Registration. Detailed Instructions for applying online are also available on same website.
